Check-in / Check-out
Our standard check-in time is from 3:00 PM, and check-out is until 11:00 AM.
We depend a little on the cleaning team’s schedule, but if you need flexibility, let us know and we’ll do our best.
Arrival & Parking
The gate slides from right to left. The white house in front is Casa Stelar.
You can park anywhere inside the yard – there’s plenty of space.

Bathroom
Please do not throw anything in the toilet. You’ll find bins next to them (extra bags are on the shelf in the small bathroom). Hot and cold water in the shower are reversed compared to the markings on the faucet (our builders’ little surprise 😅).
The boiler has a 50L capacity – enough for regular use, but if you’re a larger group or prefer longer showers, please allow some time between showers so it can reheat. The blue LED means it’s ready. Thanks for your understanding!
Kitchen
Plates, glasses, mugs, and towels – in the kitchen island. Trays & small pots – in the oven. Cutlery – drawer under the sink. You’ll also find some muesli, pasta, cereals, tea & coffee – feel free to enjoy.
The Nespresso Piano machine is ready with complimentary capsules. If you have a favorite flavor, you’re welcome to bring compatible capsules.
Living Room
Extra double duvet and a warm sweater – in the living room closet.
Small Bluetooth speaker for your playlists.
TV with Digi Online app (local TV channels).
Trash can be taken to the black bin in the yard. Spare bags: above the entrance bin or in the drawer under the oven.
Dishwasher – 30 min quick program (program 4). Detergent tabs are on the counter. Use the square-shaped slot inside the machine (not the tall one).
Electric blinds – controlled by the white remote on the kitchen island. Channel 0 moves all blinds together.
There are 2 cameras outside, both switched off from the app. A red LED may still show at night. If it bothers you, simply unplug them – no problem.
Heating & Fireplace
Every room has electric heaters. But the heart of the house is the fireplace.
We recommend starting the fire around 8:00 PM, then keeping it until bedtime – it warms the whole house. Leave interior doors open for better air circulation.
👉 Detailed fireplace instructions are included at the bottom of this guide.
Things to Do Nearby
Hiking: Great starting points – Peștera or Șirnea (for Piatra Craiului), Moieciu de Sus or Șimon (for Bucegi).
We created a trail brochure (hiking, cycling, MTB) – available here: Casa Stelar Trails Brochure.
For an easy hike: Amfiteatrul Transilvania – accessible by car (road is bumpy but doable) or even on foot directly from Casa Stelar. Stunning ridge views in both directions.
Scenic drives/walks: Fundata, Șirnea, Moieciu de Sus – beautiful high-altitude rural landscapes.
Cheile Grădiștei – must-see views, plus a very good restaurant (car needed).
Lovely picnic spot right nearby: exit the gate, turn left, walk 100m until a small road with a barrier. Walk up, and you’ll find a ridge with amazing views, an old abandoned house, and a few apple trees.
Restaurants
Cetatea Carului (close, but call ahead – sometimes closed for groups).
Fundata 13 (new, local, nearby).
In Bran / Șimon: DOR, Torzburg, Brandeberg.
For a sweet treat: Panner (Bran) – beautiful pastry shop for tea & cakes (coffee not their strongest point).
Shopping
Nearest shop: Mega Shop & Go (corner towards Moieciu de Sus).
Larger supermarkets: Mega Image & Penny (Bran – Tohanu).
Here’s the 7-day forecast on Meteoblue.

Fireplace Instructions 🔥
If you’d like to enjoy the fireplace, here’s how to make the most of it:
1. Turning on the fan:
After about 15 minutes from lighting the fire, the fireplace will be hot enough. At that point, press the buttons on the lower right side of the fireplace to activate the fan.
There are two fan speeds.
Speed 1 gives a gentle flow of warm air into the living room.
Speed 2 pushes much more air and can even warm up the second bedroom. Once the fireplace is really hot, speed 2 works wonders.
2. Adjusting the airflow (oxygen):
Below the fire chamber, you’ll see a small metal grill that slides left and right. This controls how much oxygen comes in from below:
More oxygen = the wood burns faster and hotter. Less oxygen = the fire burns slower and longer.
For efficiency, keep it somewhere in the middle, or adjust depending on whether you want the fire to last longer or heat up quickly.
3. How to build the fire:
Start with paper at the bottom, then place a small piece of firelighter on top.
Add thin fir wood sticks (they catch fire quickly).
Once the flames are strong, add medium-sized logs.
Only after those are burning well should you add larger, thicker logs. If you place big logs too early, they might not ignite properly.
You’ll find some medium-sized wood pieces already prepared in the crate next to the fireplace.
4. Wood supply:
There should be enough wood for several days. If you run out, you’ll find more stacked near the house terrace – feel free to take what you need.
5. Safety tips:
Never leave the fire completely unattended.
Always close the fireplace door properly once the fire is burning.
(!!) Make sure the hot air fan is switched off when the fire goes out.
With these steps, you’ll get a cozy, warm atmosphere throughout the house. The fireplace is at its best if you light it around 8:00 PM and keep it going until bedtime – the heat will spread nicely into all the rooms.
So shut up, live, travel, adventure, bless, and don’t be sorry.
